Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez (D-NY), the top Democrat on the House Small Business Committee, released the following statement regarding the President’s Executive Order reversing progress on climate change:

                “Not only is the President’s policy direction destructive to our environment, but it will stymie job growth and entrepreneurship. Small companies are driving innovation in the renewable energy sector and, in doing so, helping create the jobs of the future. 

               “The President’s Executive Order will not bring back the coal industry, but it will undermine our global competitiveness and put America behind in innovation and clean energy technology. All Americans, including small business owners, who care about our economic and environmental future must speak out against and resist this ill-conceived Executive Order.”
