The Committee on Small Business will hold a hearing titled, “A Fair Playing Field? Investigating Big Tech’s Impact on Small Business.” The hearing is scheduled to begin at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 14, 2019 in Room 2360 of the Rayburn House Office Building. Over the last decade, digital platforms have transformed American commerce through the rapid development of innovative business solutions that have helped small businesses reach and serve new customers. However, the boundless influence of Big Tech has raised concerns about how these platforms impact small firms that have come to rely on their business models. This hearing will give Members the opportunity to hear from large tech companies and small business about their perspectives on how to ensure that main street businesses have an equitable opportunity to compete in the information age.
